Summer layouts

Summer is coming!! Summer coming!!

I just can't wait! I love the bike rides, the warm weather, the occasional ice cream, the beach... pure bliss! And the photos make such great layouts!

Here are a few I created at Crop & Create this past March. I love this annual weekend as it is a chance to catch up with friends, get inspired and create some fun layouts.

Here are a few summer ones I started up at the crop, and finished at home.

This is how we sometimes motivate the kids to go bike riding... LOL!

This was made with American Crafts Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine. It was just a 6x6 paper pad, mounted on a single sheet of another collection I had. I love grids and should do this more often. The flair is Simple Stories.

This is a layout of the very same outing. I just can't resist a dirty face photo!

The papers are by Simple Stories Summer Vibe, and the flair is by Lime Citron.

This one is about the neighbour teaching the boys how to cast a fishing rod. They were practicing their new skills on the porch, hence the title: Porch Fishing.

This was made with the Simple Stories I Heart Summer collection. The flair is October afternoon, I think.

Thanks for looking!

Cards! Cards! Cards!

I've been busy creating a bit more lately, a few layouts here and there, and lots of cards. Here's an update on these cards, I hope you like them...

Here's a Valentine's Day card for my son, a school request. I really don't ever mind an occasion to tell the kids how much I love them.

Here are 2 birthday cards with some leftover Imaginisce papers:

I've go 2 cards for Administrative Assistant's Day:

Here are 2 sympathy cards made with the I am collection by Simple Stories as well. I can't believe how versatile this lovely collection is!

Well, that's all for now folks! I hope you like them...Happy scrapping!

Lucky us!

It's another reveal Saturday! It's like the calm before the storm... another blizzard warning here in eastern Canada for tomorrow... on the upside, all our regular activities were not on for tomorrow anyway...

Here's a summer layout made for Let's Capture Our Memories reveal number 115. I can't wait until the warmer weather arrives, but it never does until we get a St-Patrick's day snowstorm. It never fails... no matter how warm it's been, we always get a huge snowstorm around St-Patrick's day. Hopefully, this will be it, and there won't be a delayed reminder of winter...

Our challenge was to make our layout green. There's not much Irish around here, but I'll certainly play along! Here's the sketch by Laura Whitaker:

It has a wide range of options for photos, or just cards, or anything your heart desires, really... This is a layout about a day at Magic Mountain, the local water park. We had a great day in the sun, splashing in the wave pool, and riding the waterslides. Nothing like a few family selfies to mark the occasion.

I raided my stash for this one, not really sticking to one company for supplies.  There are some My Mind's Eye Bright Side papers, Jillibean Soup placemats and paper, diecut and button, Basic Grey diecuts. The big green piece is American Craft Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go. The gear is Tim Holtz, and the alphas are really old Pink Paislee I had laying around. The mist is by Mr. Huey's and the wood veneer is Studio Calico.  Can't wait for summer!!!

Yet another storm post!

Another snowy day today and I really feel for all those who still have to get to work despite the horrible conditions. Be safe everyone!

This went up live on the Let's Capture Our Memories blog yesterday, and what a great reveal!! It's full of inspiration and full of love themed layouts, all in honour of Valentine's Day! I hope you get some time to hide in your scrappy space today and create some fun cards and layouts. We'll be making a few recipes for the week, shovelling snow, folding laundry, playing games and watching movies. There might be a chocolate fondue in there somewhere...  I love a snow day when I don't have to work!

Here's the fun sketch by Emma Straface:

And here is my take on it... I don't always do pink layouts (joke- I never do pink layouts, except on Valentine's day), but when I do, I go all out!  I just had a flashback about that beer commercial with "the most interesting man in the world"... so funny how people have modified it to suit anyone and anything...

This is the XOXO collection, stamp and thicker by American Crafts, and a stamp and flair badge by Lime Citron. I won this kit at a Crop & Create event by Scrapbook & Cards Today. What a fun time that was. I found it so funny that this Mom of boys would win something so pink! But as Kelly Goree would say, a Mama of 3 boys herself, nothing wrong with scrapping boys in pink. Besides, I believe it's her favorite color, and she's the one scrapping, so there ya go!

August 1st Color spot challenge- team challenge: LCOM and Stuck?! Sketches

It's August 1st and it's a special reveal!! Stuck?!Sketches has teamed up with Let's Capture Our Memories for a challenge- a sketch challenge and a color spot. And they're both beautiful!  And what an amazing reveal it's been! I love the way everyone stepped up to the challenge- both teams did a great job. Check them out at Stuck?! Sketches and Let's Capture Our Memories!

Here is the sketch by Laura Whitaker:

Here is the gorgeous color spot by Design Seeds:

And here's my take on it:

It's yet another layout made with Echo Park's Happy Camper. I think it's my fourth... What a great collection. And what a great fit with the color spot... Amazing, huh? I added some wood veneers by Studio Calico and by American Crafts.  The mask is Tim Holtz and the stamp is Kesi'Art.

It's a fun layout about a campfire we had at the cottage, complete with spider hotdogs, marshmallows and practice family selfies... we're improving...maybe.

It's your birthday!!! Sketch #76

It's Let's Capture Our Memories owner Isabelle's birthday this month (and DT members AurĂ©lie and Jocelyne too!)- and we're celebrating with festive layouts. I only made it for a short time at the Happy Birthday Crop last weekend, but it was quite efficient at getting some inspiration back, after a very full week.

This layout was made to celebrate DS#2's second birthday. It was fun to make, and with the wonderful sketch by Emma Stafrace at Page Drafts. What a fun sketch. It just begged to be used for those fun events, with a lot of activity and people, but no great pictures, just a bunch of little snippets of pictures to tell a great story...

I used a ton of Simple Stories Happy Day collection, and a snippet of a Studio Calico scrap piece of paper. I made my background with a neutral sheet and decorated it with stamps (Jillibean Soup, American Crafts, My Favorite Things by Laina Lamb) done with Stampin' Up ink and some Tim Holtz masks. I always like to sew a bit on my layouts and this was no exception. I usually add buttons, wood veneers and other embellishments, but the paper is so colourful, and the stickers so cute, that I didn't think it needed more. It's already "busy" enough as it is...

Hope you like it,
Happy scrappy week,

NSD and Let's Capture Our Memories Reveal #70!

It's reveal day again at LCOM! And it's National Scrapbooking Day!!!

Are you going to do something scrappy today? I hope you'll let yourself get inspired by our reveal and this great sketch by Laura Whitaker. It took me all of 15 minutes to look at it, choose papers, a photo, and start scrapping! It's so easy! Love this sketch! ... and I'm rather pleased at how the layout turned out! I hope you have an amazing scrappy day!!!

I used Echo Park's All About A Boy collection, with several embellies: clip by Maya Road, washi and enamel dots by My Mind's Eye, flair by Evalicious, stamps by American Crafts and Jillibean Soup, chipboard by Basic Grey.  Thanks for looking!

Let's capture our memories reveal- sketch #55

It's reveal day at Let's Capture Our Memories! It's another sketch by Becky Fleck at Pagemaps. As Aurélie says on the LCOM blog reveal, it's so versatile and a great way to use up some scraps!

For me, I used it as an opportunity to haul out some PINK. I think I made up another pink layout... it might have been in 2009...Lol... With a house full of boys, using pink for a layout is a bit of a stretch, but Valentine's day is always a fabulous excuse!

And here's my take on it: Petits Amours/ Little Sweethearts

All of this cute pink stuff is by American Crafts, the XOXO collection. I was lucky enough to win a random draw at last year's Crop & Create, held by Scrapbook & Cards Today.

Journaling translates to: The Valentine's day cookies were a big hit, certainly a tradition to uphold... We even made a cake with heart shaped sprinkles. Sprinkles are good on everything!

So, I guess... Who says pink is just for girls?

Let's Capture Our Memories- January spot!

I was very pleased to be asked by my scrappy friend Isabelle to create the layout for the January color spot at LCOM. The prospect of an imposed color challenge was a bit daunting for me, but I had a lot of fun and have since done another color challenge layout, with another "on deck"! This is such a fun way  to mix it up and explore one's creativity! Thanks Isabelle for the feature and challenge!

This is what I created for her... It's not very wintery, but it's what got me inspired.

All supplies were found in the adorable Crop & Create: Delivered fall 2013! Thanks Scrapbook & Cards Today for creating such a cool kit!!
